What’s better for the environment? A Keurig one-cup coffee maker or an old-fashioned Mr. Coffee machine?

Probably about 10 cups a day are drank in the office.

While the Keurig only powers up for each cup, it does keep water heated within it for preparation. It also uses disposable K-cups for each use.

The mr. Coffee brews the 10 cups all at once, but would be left on for 8 hours straight. Disposed of would be one paper filter. (Or, perhaps for freshness, two brews would take place.)

In any case, which is better for the environment?
