Starbucks Coffee Company will celebrate the opening of a new Indianapolis flagship coffeehouse and the newly relocated Mid-America office on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. The preview event will take place at the new coffeehouse at 15th and Capitol.
The new store is adjacent to Starbucks new Mid-America office on 1402 N. Capital Ave. The Mid-America office, formerly located in the downtown Landmark Center, oversees operations for more than 500 stores in 15 states. The 70-person office has been in Indianapolis since 1999.
At the preview event, City Councilman Patrice Abduallah, District 15, will pull the first espresso shot in the new coffeehouse. Members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will perform as city and business leaders, along with other guests, tour the new coffeehouse and enjoy beverage and food samples.
The new 2,300-square-foot retail location features a drive-thru, 20-foot ceilings and meeting areas for social gatherings. The focal point of the store is a fireplace, which is surrounded by large wingback chairs for customers to relax and socialize. The coffeehouse also features a large outdoor patio area.
Customers can choose from a variety of handcrafted beverages and a full line of specialty coffee beans, pastries and merchandise, including coffee and espresso machines.
Starbucks is committed to the communities in which it serves. In addition to employing approximately 20-30 partners (employees) from the local area, Starbucks will provide neighborhood support through volunteer efforts and in-kind contributions and will actively partner with local community and nonprofit organizations such as its newest neighbor, Methodist Hospital.
