Re-doing room, whatta ya think?

Ok, so this is what i'll have:
-a platform bed hopefully caddy-cornered(sp?)
-a small dresser
-2 bean bags, or loungy chairs with a coffee tableish thing (small)
-a small desk
-And the theme is basically going to be stuff, like from around the world because I travel a lot (example: i'll have a little eiffel tower, and little things representing countries)
-But ^^ all of that looks really classy, and chic.

NOW!! DON'T STOP READING

The question is...what color scheme should I do.
WHAT I DON'T WANT: pink, or light blue
I want something calm and mature.

I want to paint 1 wall an actual color, and the rest of the walls are beige with stripes of a glaze to make that stripe almost shiny. So what color should I paint that wall?

You should put a dark green. it goes great with beige and it relaxes me!

Calm and mature - I'd say a soft sage green would look amazing and would be just enough of a contrast with the beige. Wouldn't tend to clash with all your little travel momentos as much as a darker or brighter color would. cool colors are the most calming, and since you want to stay away from blue, I would pick the sage green. if you wanted a little punch of color for an accent, you could add red or a chocolate brown, maybe in a pillow or throw, or maybe a table lamp or small area rug. Experiment to see which colors you like.

My two cents:
When it comes to interior decoration, floor is foundation. You may change the color of your wall, ceiling, and furniture every year or two, but floor color will remain. So, make sure that all other elements will match with your floor color/material.

black, white, and light purple or dark purple :) like this
