Australia has long been known for its thriving coffee scene. And after three years in Hong Kong, Rebecca Mikula-Wright and husband Pavel Mikula, finally decided to bring a piece of that quality, independent coffee source to the Hong Kong market.
Tucked under the escalator on Wellington Street in Central, the espresso bar stands out with its bright orange facade. But the coffee menu is clean and simple, with none of the flavored syrupy options you might find in larger commercial chains.

Upon opening the espresso bar, Mikula-Wright tapped his brother and world Barista Champion Judge Saxon Wright to purchase the highest quality beans from environmentally sustainable farms and work with farmers to achieve the highest production standards and best tasting blends from the coffee.
What we love most about Oscar's is its dedication to sustainability. 50% of Oscar's coffee comes from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms and try to do their part by purchasing carbon offsets from the Australian Orang-utan project to keep its carbon footprint down.
Espresso and Long Blacks starts at HK$20, Flat White/Cappuccino/Latte at HK$27 for a small and HK$30 for a large.
For coffee lovers, call the bar for details on coffee appreciation courses and advanced barista training which run throughout the year. The next one is in September.
