Who did the test? Somebody called Matthew Glee? And who responded to his survey? Locals? No offence, but what do they know? only a few years ago I could barely find a decent cup of coffee in Australia, and now Australian think they're coffee experts? Do me a favour!

Panzerotti, on the corner of Margaret and York Street in Sydney CBD makes some of the most consistently fantastic coffee I've ever tasted. all baristas have bad days but I have NEVER had a bad coffee from Panzerotti. they also make a mean toast with Vegemite too!

What about the difference between the stores that used automatic machines and manual ones?

I've found that cafes that use a manual machine where the barista has to empty & clean, then fill and tamp the group head produce a much better shot than the automated machines.

What do people think?

One of the most common offences is to serve good coffee luke warm. Unforgivable.then there is the coffee served in cardboard cups, with that gloria's sorry, glorious cardboard flavour. Once tasted, never forgotten.

NO chain coffee ever tastes good - never.

BEST coffee in Sydney if not NSW, if not AUSTRALIA is EMOZIONI at WALSH BAY. best coffee, mocha, iced coffee etc by the best barrista HELENA - who at this point is heavily pregnant and due very soon. Just watching her make a coffee is a revelation. But her staff are up to the same standard. And you can get a coffee late at night - hallelujah!! . they just need better food. I think they also own THE LAB cafe in Sydney another great cafe. they use DILORENZO coffee which I think is way under rated.

I have sipped and thrown out more coffees than I can remember - I would rather throw bad coffee out than drink it.

Toby's Coffee is the best, not really a chain but there are a few cafes out there

Anyone know where I can get a decent coffee in the small hours of the morning around the Homebush Bay area?
