The Troubadour Obscura Mild Stout from Brouwerij De Musketiers in Ursel, Belgium pours out dark brown in color, is quite opaque and has a large light tan head that retains. On the nose aromas of treacle, toffee, chocolate, licorice and some coffee. in the mouth this stout has good sweetness but is not overly sweet. it also is quite tempered and not robustly bitter. Flavors of toffee, licorice, spice, chocolate, coffee and some dried dark fruit with just a touch of hops. Medium side of full bodied. Moderate carbonation. not too much lacing. Slight syrup to the mouthfeel. Slightly bitter on the finish with lingering coffee and licorice flavors. A nice quaffable brew that is easy to drink and very enjoyable.
